Cause for Concern?

Ok, every news channel you turn to here in Canada all have the same top story...the rapid decline of the US economy. I for one do not understand most of what's going on but it's looking really bad. What will this mean for our economy? Is the media blowing all this up way out of proportion like usual? Should what's happening south of the border have any bearing on our upcoming election (as an RRSP owner, we don't want to lose everything we've put in, should it come to that)? And why is it I have more info on the candidates for the US presidency than any of our candidates for PM? I think that last question is a little unsettling. If I haven't already missed it I think I may watch the televised debate to get a feel for our candidates. I know what party I support but does it's leader stand for the right things? With just over 2 1/2 weeks to go til our election, guess I better do my homework.

On a brighter note, I am now a proud owner of a Crackberry Pearl, a phone that I have no idea how to use, lol. Might get to play with it tonight...but probably not. Ryan has been pretty sick all this week and I've been busy cleaning up vomit and comforting him this week. Oh well, I have the new phone...I'll figure it out in due time.

MMMMM...Yummy

Had a hankering for Greek food today, so with the help of my friend Amanda (who sent the recipes) I whipped up Greek salad, Greek style potatoes, rice and Greek chicken. I would say that I did a damn fine job of this as it was my first time making all this (well...I've made rice before). I thouroughly enjoyed my dinner...my 2 picky monkeys, well that's a different story. Anyhow for those interested here are the recipes for the potatoes, salad and chicken

Seasons

While walking Rosie to school this morning, I came upon this. It was so picturesque (in my mind anyway), I whipped out my phone to snap a pic. (Only in this day and age does that make sense...pulling out your phone to take a pic, lol). Anyhow this is the one thing I do like about fall, all the leaves scattered all over the ground.

Today I am about to purchase something that I normally hate wearing, boots. I figure I don't want to freeze my feet off this winter while walking to and from Rosie's school. At least I like these boots.

I have discovered that if you surf the web enough you come across great gems like this...http://www.curlyqcuties.com/
We are going to create one for each of the kids for Christmas this year.

Rosie Art

Today I got a surprise when I picked Rosie up from preschool...my first piece of art done at school. I love it! Rosie seems to be doing a whole lot better than I thought she would (not that I don't think she's big...she's just terribly shy and high strung). I guess being around other kids her age is doing her a world of good.

A New Adventure Begins

Well the big day arrived today, Rosie's first day of preschool. Today was just the orientation, I stayed with her and it was only an hour (regular days will be 2 1/2 hours). She did pretty good today, was a bit shy, but I was super proud of her. Pics show her waiting to leave, outside her school and outside her classroom. And for the record I didn't cry but I was sure nervous as hell this morning. Now the big transition (starting Monday) to being left with strangers without mommy around. I hope she does well.

New Princess Haircut

In preparation for her first day of preschool, Rosie got spoiled at Beaners (kids salon). I love the braids and that she picked a dark colour instead of the usual pink or light purple. It's a beautiful contrast to her light blonde hair. I will post pics of her first day tomorrow night.
